Ericsson Eesti AS has changed from a production-centric model to a development centre model. A significant part of the future of our technology is being developed and manufactured right here in Tallinn. Ericsson is a multinational networking and telecommunications company, whose Estonian unit develops and manufactures communications base stations and creates innovative communications software solutions. Ericsson employs 2,200 people in Estonia, about one third of whom are involved in development activities and the rest in manufacturing and support services.<\/p>\n

Ericsson provides telecommunications services and multimedia solutions in more than 180 countries. Since 2015, Ericsson Estonia has been involved in the development of 5G products and solutions. Today, an industrialisation plant for new radio communication equipment is located in Tallinn. In cooperation with a design unit in Sweden or Canada, new product specifications are being developed. The Tallinn unit manufactures the prototype product, ensures mass production readiness and builds the supply chain for the same product. Up to 260 prototypes are produced in a month. 5G products are the main focus.<\/p>\n

We are working in the era of the Industry 4.0 industrial revolution, which means that absolutely everything is connected and interconnected. Industry 4.0, or smart manufacturing, focuses on digitalisation, cognitive solutions and collaboration with robots.<\/p>\n
