On October 15th, the international electronics industry seminar “EMS and Beyond 2024” took place. Now in its seventh year, the seminar focused on opportunities and challenges within the electronics industry. Topics of discussion included the components crisis, the new CRA regulation, and investment banks’ and investors’ perspectives on the electronics sector.

Speakers included analysts, industry associations, entrepreneurs, and bankers. This year, the seminar hosted over 180 participants from 18 countries, with attendees from the Baltic and Nordic regions, as well as from Spain, Italy, and India.

Dieter G. Weiss

Dieter G. Weiss is the head behind in4ma, the most reliable data source for the European EMS Industry. He has 42 years of experience in the electronics industry and has been studying the European EMS industry for many years – developing a database of more than 2150 EMS companies in Europe. The database provides a lot of detailed information which is regularly updated and fed with actual data in order to study actual market developments.

Simon Majer

Simon Majer is a Vice President at Raymond James, an international investment bank, he advises international companies and their shareholders in M&A transactions and financing considerations.

Thereby, Mr. Majer focuses on the electronics sector. Having completed multiple transactions, Mr. Majer also supports private equity investors and their portfolio companies in the evaluation of potential investments and acquisitions in the EMS sector, supported through the Raymond James team and network. Thereby, he and his team can leverage experience in buy- and sell-side mandates with a large number private equity and family-owned companies having transacted with his advice

Alison James

Alison James is IPC’s Senior Director for European Government Relations. She is responsible for European advocacy and public policy, representing IPC and the electronics industry towards the EU Institutions and policymakers in Europe.

Alison has over 25 years experience in European Public Affairs across technology, manufacturing and media sectors. She began her career with the European Commission and subsequently led the European public affairs functions for a variety of multinationals and Trade Associations including Kodak and the Hollywood studios.

Jenirathese Nadar

Jenirathese Nadar is Regional Marketing Manager at NXP responsible for Security, NFC and MCUs.

With around 10 years of experience in the Security field in different positions from FAE to Marketing, he can help guide customers to have the most secure systems.

Otto Pukk

Otto Richard Pukk is the President and CEO of Incap Corporation – a trusted partner and full service provider in Electronics Manufacturing Services that offers state-of-the-art technology backed up by an entrepreneurial culture and highly qualified personnel. Incap has operations in Finland, Estonia, India, Slovakia, the UK, USA and Hong Kong and employs approximately 2,700 people. Incap’s share has been listed on Nasdaq Helsinki Ltd stock exchange since 1997.

He is also the Chairman of the Council of the Estonian Electronics Industries and has been re-elected to this position several times since 2019..

Helena Maripuu

Helena Maripuu is the Group Communication and Investor Relations Lead at Incap Corporation.

She has extensive experience in communication and marketing in different industries while focusing on the EMS sector, technology, and energy industries. She has been consulting Incap for the last 7 years while playing an extensive role in building up the brand image for the whole Incap Group. She also contributes to the development of Incap’s sustainability programme while coordinating and preparing the ESG reporting, ensuring transparency and adherence to industry standards.

Kaspar Peek

Kaspar Peek is a Head of Industry at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Information Technology

Alexis Montoya

Alexis Montoya has been working for Microchip for the past 6 years as a Regional Channel Manager covering the Nordics and Baltics region. He started his career in 1997 as an Intern at TEMIC Semiconductors, which became ATMEL, and worked ever since in different Account and Sales management positions through the years, including for a niche German EMS

Francisco Fourcade

Francisco Fourcade is responsible for IPC standards development activities in Europe while supporting multiple activities globally. He joined IPC in early 2022 with extensive experience as a master trainer with more than 10 years’ experience in training and certification of engineers and operators in the electronics industry. His passion for advocating excellence and efficiency in electronics manufacturing has led him to lead new standardization challenges in a variety of fields, from emerging additive technologies such as 3D plastronics to rework and repair industry needs, including component reclaim, among other developments supporting sustainability in electronics.

Arno Kolk

Arno Kolk is the Managing Director of the Estonian Electronics Industries Association. He has extensive experience in the electronics sector – he started his career as an R&D engineer in Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) and worked in different engineering and management positions in EMS and engineering companies in several countries.

In his presentation, Arno Kolk will give you an overview of how Estonia’s world-class electronics industry is embracing modern practices and why this small and agile country is uniquely positioned to be the perfect test site for new products and processes.
